Scope of practice:
Dr. Landes is a board certified general surgeon and member of the
American College of Surgeons. His practice involves the full range of general surgery, which includes all abdominal
organs (the intestines, esophagus, stomach, colon, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, and bile ducts), skin and soft tissue,
endocrine organs (thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal glands), breast surgery, emergency and trauma surgery, head and neck surgery,
and surgical oncology. He is certified for advanced cardiac and trauma life support.
Specific Interests:
Laparoscopic or Minimally Invasive Surgery: Having recently completed his surgical residency,
Dr. Landes is extremely up to date on the newest procedures and techniques of minimizing surgical incisions. This helps
patients have less pain, smaller scars, less time spent in the hospital after surgery, and quicker return to their lives and
employment.
Hernia:
Dr. Landes has a lot of experience with repair of hernias of the
abdomen and groin, including hernias after surgery. He uses a variety of methods to fix these hernias including minimally
invasive techniques.
Colorectal/GI:
This is a large scope of his practice which includes abdominal
pain, bleeding, diverticulitis, hemorrhoids, colon cancer, bowel obstructions. He performs EGDs and colonoscopies (cameras
in the upper and lower intestinal tract) to further investigate disease processes and also to screen for colon cancer.
He also performs procedures in the office to treat diseases of the rectum and anus.
